Originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, Richard Cowdrey graduated from the Columbus College of Art & Design in 1981. He has since been a freelance illustrator working with a variety of distinguished clients in editorial, advertising and fine art. Lately he has been most recognized for his work in publishing, illustrating many beautiful children's books, including the New York Times #1 bestseller Bad Dog, Marley!
Richard’s love for family and nature overflows into his illustrations which are enjoyed by children around the world. He lives in Ohio with his wife and has four grown children and five grandchildren. When not painting in his studio, Richard enjoys visiting schools to share with children his love of illustration.
