Sara Baker is an Oregon native, an artist, a small business owner, a crafter, a work at home mom of two little boys, and wife to a hardworking husband.
Growing up with a background in crafting, drawing and making art from a very young age, she followed her dream for creating Art and handmade goods throughout her childhood and into her college years where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts and Business at the University of Oregon. Blessed with a family that has encouraged her creativity, she has always felt empowered to pursue her dream of being a serious artist and creating art for a living. Her art and handmade goods have been featured in art shows and vendor fairs, as well as local boutique shops and reproduced on home decor items that have shipped all over the world.
Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, with a life long love for the outdoors, her art is inspired by the woodland wildlife and mountains around her, as well as the rural farm life that makes up her small town. Her artwork is known to be playful and full of color. Some of her most popular pieces have been commissioned portraits of farm animals and pets that her collectors say have a way of capturing the spirit of their animals.
“I believe that everything in nature has a story to tell and I love the challenge of capturing a moment and trying to retell that story in my paintings. My hope is that when people view my art they will be able to feel the life behind it, and that it helps them connect with nature even if in a small way. In a world that is increasing in concrete and technology, I think it’s so important that we find ways to stay connected with the living, with nature, because it helps keep us grounded and it’s just plain good for the soul.” - Sara Baker
